We are the Miracle League baseball team
and we are looking for volunteers!!
The Miracle League of Boston is a non-profit organization that provides an opportunity to play baseball to any child from 5 to 18 with a disability that keeps them from playing in a mainstream league. There are currently 180 Miracle League organizations nationwide and we are currently getting together a local league beginning this September in Boxborough!!!! We need volunteers to become “buddies” for all of the players. Miracle League team members are assigned buddies who assist them in hitting the ball, running the bases and fielding. Buddies can be schoolmates, fellow parents, high school or college students, church groups or anyone who wants to volunteer their time to give a child the gift of baseball. We are looking for some buddies who are committed to safety first, playing baseball and having FUN second!!!!!
The games will be played on Saturdays from September 6, 2008 to October 18, 2008 at Blanchard Memorial Elementary School in Boxborough. If someone wants to become a buddy, you can volunteer for one game or all of the games! You will need to commit to being at the field at least 30 minutes prior to the time designated for the volunteer time and need to comply with the Miracle League’s rules set forth by the Miracle League.
