College Mini-fairs Each year the Concord-Carlisle Guidance Department hosts approximately 200 college admission, career program, and military representatives who visit CCHS to speak with our students and staff. Beginning with the 2005-2006 school year, the Counseling Department will conduct the mini-fair program in the spring. This change is coming as a result of the fact that most seniors return to school in September with more clearly defined career/college plans than has been the case in the past. The rising number of early decision/action and early applications further confirm this belief. As a result the department feels that providing this type of access and information in the junior year would be much more effective. Representatives will be available to meet with students in the upper library once a week during D, E, and F block lunch periods. This time frame makes it possible for any student to have access to admissions personnel. A list of colleges and universities attending each mini-fair is posted several days prior to each week's event. Students may only use class time to attend a mini-fair if they have a pass from their teacher. While meeting with college admissions personnel is not intended to replace a personal interview or campus visit, the mini-fair contact allows a student the opportunity to gain a general impression of a college, to ask specific questions about programs, activities or admissions at that college, and to gather written information about the institution.
