It is the policy of the Art Department at CCHS to have students visit at least two gallery shows / exhibits on their own and write reviews of them.

Please use the following format when reviewing an sculpture show :

1. General Information : Name of the show / artist, name and location of gallery or museum, dates the show will be on view, date when you visited the show.

2. Describe the Show : Give a brief general description of the artist's work, the subject matter, medium, style, techniques, and any relevant information about the artists life, philosophy, etc.

3. Discuss the Work : Discuss your opinions of the work, be descriptive and specific. Defend / explain / support your views by citing examples from the work.

4. Analyze One Piece : Describe and critique one work that you feel strongly about. Talk about the meaning and expressive quality of the work, the technique, and its relationship to the rest of the show. Discuss how it is different or similar to your work. Do a quick sketch of the work that you have chosen.
