Create a newsletter recommending three or four web sites.

Part I Explore and evaluate the list of sites on the left. Choose five to record in your log.

Download the Web Site Log (an Excel document) here.

As you choose five sites for your log, find at least 2 sites that you think deserve a 5 star rating.

To earn 5 stars from you, the site must have or be:

  • Useful: accurate with at least 2 pieces of useful information
  • Easy to navigate and explore
  • Looks good to you: you can describe the look and it appeals to you
  • Date: you know when it was last updated
  • Author: the author is trustworthy or appropriate for the purpose.

    On your log, record:

    • URL or address
    • title of the site
    • domain name type (e.g. .gov, .org, .com)
    • author (person or organization)
    • date created/updated
    • two uses of the site
    • navigation comment
    • overall rating (1-5)

Part II Build a newsletter that has your review, graphics, and ratings for 3-4 sites. Learn more about writing the review: writing your review.
