Need Community Service Hours?

What is “A Cure is Coming!”?

In it’s 6th year, A Cure Is Coming! is a 5k road race and awareness walk that takes place in downtown Lexington, MA.  This year, the event will take place on Saturday, May 1st and will end with a barbeque, raffle, entertainment, and much more!  All proceeds from this event go to the ALS Therapy Development Institute, a non-profit biotech in Cambridge, MA that researches treatments for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

 

How you can help!

Are you looking to volunteer at a great event?  Need some more community service hours?  We would love for you to be a part of A Cure Is Coming!.

 

Student Liaisons

·         Students Liaisons will be responsible for hyping up event around Lexington High School, the town, and amongst family and friends. 

·         Student Liaisons will be responsible for creating teams to walk or run the day of the event

·         Student Liaisons will be responsible for spreading information about the event and ALS TDI including hanging posters & flyers

·         Student Liaisons will be responsible for creating a fundraising webpage

·         Student Liaisons will be responsible for attending a one hour introductory meeting to explain event and answer questions.

 

Day-of Volunteers

·         Day-of Volunteers will be responsible for making themselves available for set times on Saturday, May 1st, either a 2 or 4 hour time frame

·         Day-of Volunteers may be responsible for selling raffle tickets, helping at the registration table, set up/break down of barbeque, handing out information, etc.
