What is “A Cure is Coming!”?
In it’s 6th
year, A Cure Is Coming! is a 5k road race and awareness walk that takes place
in downtown Lexington, MA. This year,
the event will take place on Saturday, May 1st and will end with a
barbeque, raffle, entertainment, and much more!
All proceeds from this event go to the ALS Therapy Development
Institute, a non-profit biotech in Cambridge, MA that researches treatments for
ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
How you can help!
Are you looking to
volunteer at a great event? Need some
more community service hours? We would
love for you to be a part of A Cure Is Coming!.
Student Liaisons

Students
Liaisons will be responsible for hyping up event around Lexington High School,
the town, and amongst family and friends.

Student
Liaisons will be responsible for creating teams to walk or run the day of the
event
·
Student
Liaisons will be responsible for spreading information about the event and ALS
TDI including hanging posters & flyers
·
Student Liaisons
will be responsible for creating a fundraising webpage
·
Student
Liaisons will be responsible for attending a one hour introductory meeting to
explain event and answer questions.
Day-of Volunteers
·
Day-of Volunteers
will be responsible for making themselves available for set times on Saturday,
May 1st, either a 2 or 4 hour time frame
·
Day-of Volunteers
may be responsible for selling raffle tickets, helping at the registration
table, set up/break down of barbeque, handing out information, etc.
