Double click on Macintosh HD
Open up Documents
Open up MacFrac
Click on View, and set to As List
This is where you will find all of the programs for the next two weeks...
Keep in mind when I tell you to ZOOM, that sometimes people tend to just zoom in between the two main bulbs - there is so much happening in other places that youve just go to explore in those areas, like:
- in between large bulbs
- the disappearing parts on the far left
- the top of the main bulb
- all up and down the sides of the main bulb
- the indent in the main bulb on the right side
- etc.

g) You can scroll across or up and down in the image using the arrow keys - try it: Hit apple-N for a new fractal if you need it and ZOOM in a couple of times, then use arrow keys to look all around and find interesting areas to zoom in on
h) If the image gets blobby, you should hit apple-I and up the number of iterations (1000?)
i) After zooming for awhile, go to Fractal - Outside Style - stalks - OK - cool, huh? zoom some more...
j) Try different Palettes with the palette menu or hit apple-K to get random palette

i) Hit apple - O. Go to Documents/MacFrac/MandelBrainPPC and go to Sample Files)
choose one
j) These are great samples and most include moving colors (you cannot change the size of them). You can also Zoom in on them!!!
Try many of them
4. EasyFractal 3.11e folder- alternative view - spheres - 3D
a) Open the EasyFractal folder then EasyFractal3.11e
b) To get just the image , hit Apple W twice (answer YES to the question) to close all windows (respond NOT YET to another question) and hit Apple N
c) Set Real Width to: 600 x 600, then click EXECUTE
d) To zoom, drag a box, then use apple-B
e) Zoom in several places in the familiar M-Set and notice what is unfamiliar (The spheres! the spheres!)
f) Run into blank areas -? Go to General and up the number of iterations to 750 or more
g) Go to Palette - Load - 1024 - Fire (if this causes an error, give up on colors)
h) Now Zoom on a red area
i) Hit apple-N
j) Now find the 3D Tab on the little window where you changed the image size - click on 3D display - zoom some more
k) You think thats cool? Thats nothing....Try playing with Viewing Angle and Peak (on the 3D tab), by typing numbers into the boxes
5. Floating Fractals -
a) Open Floating Fractals 5.1
b) While holding the option key, drag the cursor around to see Julia sets
c) Zoom in on the M-Set and look at the Julia sets now - also watch the little brown window to track Iterations - it autoadjusts. Zoom, Julia, Zoom, Julia, mmmm....

Wow! Youve gone through all of the programs and its not May 27th yet????
What should you do?
Go back to your favorite program(s) and begin spending an infinite amount of time exploring the infinite numbers of different escape-time fractal equations which give an infinite number of categories of fractals with an infinite number of places to zoom and a practically infinite number of color patterns and other options for drawing....
And when youre done with that....
