My First Web Page

I. Save this Web Page as HTML on your computer so you can chang it to be your own! Here's how
1. Open this page in Firefox
2. Choose File>Save Page As ...
3. At the Dialogue box (shown below) change the Save As: Format to Web Page, HTML only
4. The HTML file is saved on your computer.
5. Open an Application to use to edit your HTML file. You can edit the HTML with TextEdit (Mac), WordPad (PC), Dreamweaver or Adobe GoLive (Mac or PC).

II. Open the Page in TextEdit, Word Pad or Dreamweaver. To learn HTML open it in TextEdit or Word Pad. You'll see the HTML version of the page and will be able to edit the page. Practice by changing font sizes and color.

Font Size Practice
Try making changes to the sentences below. To make the changes you need to open this page with TextEdit.:

1. Change the font of this sentence to "comic sans ms" by changing the word Verdana in the face attribute part of the font tag.

2. Change the color of this sentence to "red" by changing the word green in the color attribute part of the font tag.

3. Change the color of this sentence to any color you find on the color chart: color codes.

4. Learn how to make other changes to to the look of your page working with other tags: basic tags.
