~Dreamweaver Instructions~

Dreamweaver Webpage Instructions

1. LOG IN using 6thstudent > 6th.

2. Open up the Kaiter Planet Project Alias folder.

3. Activate the template for your project by dragging and dropping it onto the Dreamweaver icon (green circle with a "d" inside).

4. Replace all the XXX's with acurate information about your planet/belt/moon.

5. Fill in the Ten Fun Facts table. (Insert > Table with 1 row, 1 column)

6. Import at least three (3) photos from Safari by dragging and dropping the photo into the "Saved Images" folder for your section located in the Kaiter Planet Project Alias folder.

Then put your curser where you want the image to go, and select:

Insert > Image

Note: Be sure to put a caption under each image.

7. Fill in the Alien Adaptation chart.

8. Insert > Image (for your animated alien gif).

9. Insert > Image (for your 3-D alien photograph).

10. Remember: Use Window > Properties to change fonts, color, text position, format, etc.

IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT move file or folder locations!

 

 

~Photoshop Instructions~

 

Photoshop Animated Alien Instructions

1. LOG IN using your regular name.  

(Note: Do NOT log in using 6thstudent/6th to create your animation.)

2.Before starting the project, each student should create a new folder on his/her desktop called:

animatedalien

(Note: Each student will save the 6 or more slides for each step of the adaptations in that folder.)

3. Open up Photoshop (icon with one feather).   [prompt: close]

4. Pull down Photoshop > Preferences , then select Plugins & Scratch Disks and then select first: Macintosh HD and then click OK.

5. Go to File > New and then select: 4 inches, 4 inches, 72 pixels/inch, then click OK.

6. Draw one ( 1 ) body part adaptation using draw features available on the tool bar.

7. File > Saveas the first body part using the naming system below

For example, name it: 1bodymercury4.jpg 

(slide# - bodypart - planet - section# - .format)

8. VERY IMPORTANT: SaveAs the file using Format > JPG.

9. Draw the second body part adaptation using draw features available on the tool bar and Saveas using the naming system described above:

10. File > SaveAs the second ( 2nd ) body part.  

(For example, name it: 2facemercury4.jpg)

VERY IMPORTANT:

SaveAs the file using Format > JPG for all slides from now on.

11. Continue adding additional slides for each new body part adaptation, and File > SaveAs a JPG for EACH new slide:

~Image Ready Instructions~

 

Animated Alien in ImageReady

  1. Set up:
  1. 1. Create a folder that has the images that will run in your animated gif. (File > New Folder)
  2. Next, follow these steps:
  3. 2. Open ImageReady (icon with two feathers)
  4. 3. Select: File > Import > Folder as Frames
  5. 4. Using the browse window, choose the folder you set up in step #1.  
  6. 5. Click Choose and ImageReady will load the images.
  7. 6. Use the selection options under each image to adjust length of time and other options (1 second works well).
  8. 7. Preview your animation by pressing the play triangle.
  9. To Save: 
  10. 8. Select: File > Save Optimized
  11. **Be sure to use "SAVE OPTIMIZED"
  1. 9. Next, name your new animated gif:
For example, name it: heidikalien3.gif
  1. (yourfirstname-lastinitial-alien-section.gif)
  2. 10. Log in as 6thstudent/6th. Within a web page, insert your animated gif.
  3. Insert > Image
