| Welcome Class of 2014 ! This course will meet once a week in the main computer lab. You will become familiar with working in a networked environment and you will each have your own server account where you will save your work. Each computer lesson and assignment is designed to teach you basic to intermediate skills using a variety of computer applications. You will have the opportunity to learn and utilize these skills in the projects you will create in class and also apply them to projects in other subject areas. Course Description Sixth grade students are scheduled to take computer class once a week throughout the school year. In this course students will learn the fundamentals of computer literacy through the use of a variety of software applications. The computer curriculum is an integrated program that promotes the infusion of technology into all curriculum areas. The Instructional Technology Specialist provides guidance and an understanding of software applications that enable students to become proficient. Students grow to understand and identify various computer components, networked computer environments, and basic to intermediate level competencies in the following areas: Word Processing |
