HOMEWORK

Homework will be assigned every night. Assignments include written, oral and review (studying and memorizing) tasks. All assignments are due at the beginning of class. If you miss two assignments, you must stay after school THE SAME DAY you miss the second assignment, and every subsequent day that you are missing another assignment. (This is CCHS policy.)

LATE WORK

Homework is due at the beginning of each class, after which it will be deemed late. Please see your teacher's grading policy to see how late homework is marked.

Projects will be marked down 5 points for EACH DAY they are late. This includes weekends.

PLAGIARISM

The work you hand in must be your own. In some cases, on-line dictionaries can be used to look up specific words, but translation of expressions and sentences much be done by the student. Group work in class is permitted and often encouraged; however, making minimal contribution to a group project and accepting full credit is cheating, as is asking or receiving information about a test or other graded material. All of the rules set by CCHS regarding plagiarism apply to this course. Please see the CCHS Student Handbook for details. If you have specific questions or need further clarification, please see your teacher.

MAKE-UP POLICY

Students missing class due to unexcused absences will not be extended the privilege to hand in work late and will be given a zero for all work done on that day or due on that day. This includes tests. Any unexcused absence will exclude you from co-curricular activities for that day and will result in a three hour office detention.

Students missing class with excused absences are responsible for finding out what they missed, obtaining notes, and making up work. Homework and/or any other assignments or projects are due the class following the excused absence, after which they will be marked late. All work must be made up prior to the next scheduled quiz or test on that same material.

Missed tests must be made up within one week of your return. It is your responsibility to arrange a time to take the test. After one week tests may not be made up and you will be assigned a zero for a grade.

SUBSTITUTES

When the teacher is absent from class, you will conduct yourself in accordance to these expectations and in the manner expected of you by your teacher. Any student whose name is brought to our attention for misbehavior with a substitute will be assigned a three hour office detention.

EXTRA HELP

If you are having difficulties with the material or a particular assignment, please don't hesitate to come get extra help! We are available at various times before, after, and during the school day. See your teacher to find out when he/she is available to meet with you.
